38mm refers to the height of the artificial grass fibers or blades. This means that the grass strands are 38 millimeters (or approximately 1.5 inches) tall when they are standing upright.

Artificial grass is made from synthetic materials such as polyethylene, polypropylene or nylon, and is designed to look and feel like natural grass. It is a popular alternative to natural grass because it requires less maintenance and watering, and is more durable and long-lasting.

When choosing artificial grass, the height of the fibers is an important factor to consider. A 38mm height is considered a medium-to-high pile, which is ideal for a natural-looking and comfortable lawn. It is suitable for a variety of applications, including residential landscaping, commercial landscaping, sports fields, and playgrounds.

Overall, if you're looking for an artificial grass option that is realistic and comfortable underfoot, a 38mm height is a good choice.

installation:

  1. Start by creating a border around the area where you plan to lay the artificial grass. To do this, you can use treated wood planks or a similar material to create a frame. The border should be at least 2-3 inches high to help contain the sand and prevent it from spilling out onto other areas.

  2. Once you have created the border, you can begin to add a layer of crushed stone or gravel around the perimeter of the area. This will help to create a sturdy foundation for the artificial grass and provide good drainage.

  3. After you have added the stone, you can then add a layer of sand on top. This will help to create a smooth and level surface for the artificial grass to be laid on. It's important to use a coarse sand that is free of any debris or organic matter.

  4. Once you have added the sand, you can then lay down a weed suppressant material such as a weed barrier fabric. This will help to prevent weeds from growing up through the artificial grass and will also help to keep the sand and other materials in place.

  5. Finally, you can lay the artificial grass on top of the sand and weed barrier material. Make sure to cut the grass to fit the area, leaving as little excess as possible. Once you have laid the artificial grass, you can then secure the edges with landscaping stakes or galvanized nails.

By using treated wood, stone, and sand around the outside of your artificial grass installation, you can create a sturdy foundation that will help to keep the grass in place and provide good drainage. Adding a weed suppressant material will also help to keep weeds from growing up through the artificial grass, which will help to keep it looking great for years to come.
